Home / EPL / Henrik Larsson and Gerard Butler Shine at Celtic Legends v. Man Utd Legends Match….

Celtic and Man Utd fans enjoyed a night of football last night, despite the rioting in England, when they attended last night’s John Kennedy Testimonial for charity. Organised to raise funds to tackle famine in East Africa, with a portion of the gate receipts going to young player John Kennedy, who now works at the club having been injured early on in his career, the match was a stunning success and by all accounts a cracking game to watch.

Celtic Legends, including Henrik Larsson, actor Gerard Butler, boxers Ricky Hatton and Steve Collins, and The View’s Pete Reilly and Kyle Falconer took part in the match with Larsson rallying his troops to come for 2-0 down to a 5-2 victory over Man Utd. Aside from the awkwward stare that Larsson is giving Butler as he changes into his Celtic jersey, it was an eventful match for them.

The United team, which included Teddy Sheringham, Gordon Strachan, Dwight Yorke, and Ole Gunnar Solksjear alongside Top Gear Presenter Richard Ashcroft, rapper Tinchy Strider and Simon Webbe from Blue played well, but they just couldn’t keep Larsson under control and in the end he systematically destroyed their back line to end on a hat trick. I’m honestly surprised Roy Keane didn’t go berserk but as Tinchy Stirder tweeted: “I’m in Glasgow… Playing in the Man Utd vs Celtic legends/celebs game, jus walked past Roy Keane in the hotel, looks like an angry man lol.”

Truer words were never spoken…or tweeted…whatever…
