This might be the best case for why you should never kick this high in this situation. Chris Mavinga was running after the ball along with Mehdi Carcela last night in the Belgian League. The ball took a high bounce, and he went to touch it on out of play. Instead he found Carcela’s face. It’s not terribly dirty, just kind of dangerous, either way Carcela came away from it with a broken nose and jaw.
