Home / Soccer Fans / Wayne Rooney May Be Back In Form; United can’t be stopped now.

What a tough year it’s been for Wayne Rooney. After a season in which the England international notched an impressive 34 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for United, the man has looked a shell of himself this campaign. Luckily, Dimitar Berbatov and the man in the Chicharito jersey have been there to pick up the pieces while Rooney battled his own personal demons. It appears he may be back to his old influential self. While some “experts” were claiming he was beginning to play terrifically again, I didn’t see it because he’s one of the best goalscorers in the land when he’s on his game. Where were the goals? Here were the goals against Aston Villa (plus a good lay-off assist to Nermanja Vidic). Take a look:

Welcome back, Wayne Rooney. Enter an absolutely unstoppable team now. With Rooney struggling for form all season long, the team has still remained unbeaten and at the top of the table thanks to other impressive contributors, such as leading EPL goalscorer Dimitar Berbatov. If Rooney begins firing on all cylinders, I don’t see how it’s possible for any other team to get to the top of the table by year’s end. Seriously. 15 wins and 9 draws thus far without United’s best player playing well at all for most of these games. Arsenal fans may need to be worried: their “Invincible” unbeaten season record may be at stake.

At any rate, United will now have one of the most dangerous attacks in all of Europe if Rooney can continue performing like he did against Villa. Sure, Villa aren’t the greatest side. But it’s about the man finding confidence again. Sir Alex should be beaming right now. All non-United fans should be crying in fear.
