Home / EPL / Rafael to Miss Sunderland Match with Concussion

Manchester United’s fears about Rafael, who was stretchered off after a head-on-head collision during last weekends match versus Blackpool has been confirmed to has a concussion. The injury is thought top be minor, but it will rule him out this weekends fixtures, and possibly longer depending on how he progresses in his recovery.

Concussions are often viewed as a minor problem, and are more of a rugby injury, but they are unfortunately common in soccer. These injuries can be quite serious, and like anything that affects the brain, can take a long time to properly heal. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rafael out for several weeks, and training lightly with one of these Full 90 Headgaurds on. He make look the fool, but at least he can train even though he’s injured.

All the staff at soccerprose.com wish him a quick recovery, I’ve had few serious ones myself, and its no fun.
