Home / Soccer Fans / Nike USA Home Short Review

While watching the USA in 2011 has been a bit painful at times (see losses to Spain, Paraguay, and even Panama), it doesn’t mean they won’t look good representing the good ole Stars and Stripes. The new Nike USA Home Shorts slid across my desk much to my delight and I got a chance to train with them for a bit of time.

I often have many gripes about soccer shorts: too short, too tight, annoying itchy materials implemented, not breathable…I could go on and on with the list but I won’t bore you to tears. The conclusion I drew with a few run-arounds with this pair of shorts is that I have none of these gripes. If you wear medium shorts, get medium shorts…they will fit beautifully. They are a great length and fit just above my knee, the ideal length  of a soccer short. The shorts were also extremely comfortable right out of the package. This, is in large part due to the breathable and durable Dri-Fit material, a patented Nike technology. Essentially, the fabric is a lightweight polyester that will last and keep your legs feeling not too sweaty, regardless of weather condition.

As is appropriate with a USA team short is an all navy look. Red accents line the outside of the shorts and look great. In addition, a large USA crest sits on one end of the short legs and is professionally stitched onto the short. To top it all off, a white Nike swoosh lies flush on the other short leg to give you a red, white, and blue look. Think Nike planned this? Yes. It’s a great looking pair of shorts. The shorts are amazingly comfortable and if you are cheering on the Yanks this year or any other year, these shorts will be a great addition to your mounting pile of soccer shorts you likely already have.
