Considering they just won the FA Cup and have carved out a comfortable niche for themselves at the top of the Premiership its easy to forget that the men in Manchester City jerseys spent most of the 1990’s languishing the second division. If the last two minutes of this promotion play-off had gone according to plan for Gillingham, the Premiership would be a very different place today.
