Home / EPL / Manchester City Unveil New Away Jersey

The blue side of Manchester have revealed their new 2011-12 away kit and I have to say its very different. Its rare to see a club truly make a departure from their previous kit, maybe there is just too much money on the line these days to allow for that kinda creativity. But this Manchester City jersey is really something different.

The black and red stripes that dominate the jersey design area throwback to Manchester City’s 1969 kit, and their rich heritage of not winning as many matches or trophies as their neighbors. But, in all seriousness, I really like the look of this kit. The fabric is also very unique.

Unlike Nike and Adidas jersey the material has more of a cotton feel to it as its heavier on textile, and less polyester. This can make the shirt hot on a sunny day, but for me, the feel of a cotton jersey makes it worth it. The gold color on the crest, Umbro logo, and sponsor logo really pop against the background and I like the overall personality of the shirt.

Overall, its a great shirt, I like the design, and they did look good next to the FA Cup.
