Home / Soccer Fans / Adebayor to Real Madrid on Loan? Best Deal for Both Parties

Manchester City outcast and Togolese international striker Emmanuel Adebayor is at impasse in his career. He’s 26-years old and should be in the prime of his career. Yet, the former Arsenal man rides the bench at a club that constantly brings in attacking options, knocking him further down the pecking line along with Roque Santa Cruz. I’d be surprised if they aren’t great friends by now. At any rate, Adebayor wants out and he’ll be probably looking for a top club. Enter the best option of his career. Enter Jose Mourinho.

With only one true striker on the squad who is healthy (wildly inconsistent Karim Benzema), Mourinho’s squad is in dire need of a true striker option while main hit-man Gonzalo Higuain heals from injury. Adebayor is the perfect option for a loan deal. City will need to sell him at one point or another with the influx of attacking options available at the club but they’ll be looking to get him some playing time in the mean time, in case he were to ever return to the Eastlands. It’d be a viable option for both sides. Adebayor would certainly get playing time for a top club, a huge priority for him at this point with all the frustrations he’s had to endure. Mourinho would love to add an aerial striking threat to his attack and the man certainly provides that. It’s hard to imagine Mourinho being comfortable seeing Cristiano Ronaldo as the lone striker unless he was forced to do this.

The bottom line is Adebayor is extremely unhappy at City, as evidenced by his latest scuffle with Manchester City defender Kolo Toure. It’s time for City to move on, especially with the arrival of controversial striker Mario Balotelli and the imminent arrival of prolific striker Edin Dzeko. Both sides need a bit of good fortune and a 6-month long loan to the Santiago Bernabeu would seem to work great. This would be the steal of the transfer market for Real Madrid and the club would finally be able to practice a bit of frugality in the transfer period. Who else is excited for the potential of this deal?
