The Scottish giants came up with some disappointing performances to just get edged out for the SPL title to bitter rivals Rangers this past year. That doesn’t mean when they travel to Rangers they won’t be out for revenge and looking good all the while. The new 2011-2012 Celtic Jersey for away ties just arrived and I have to say it’s about as unique as they come, in a good way.

Newcomers Gary Hooper (20 goals in 26 appearances = ridiculous) and Anthony Stokes will don the jersey for the games away from iconic Celtic Park in Glasgow and will look pretty slick doing so. The design has horizontal thick stripes consisting of a gray and white pattern with green accenting. It all is a bit to take in at first but after some time, the style not only grows on you, it makes you fall in love. Green sleeves and collar make sure the kit keeps with it’s traditional green colorway that has become so renowned all over the globe with its 9 million + fans. In addition to their non-traditional look, Tennent’s takes over as the primary shirt sponsor. It fits well and I can’t complain on the choice.

Nike makes the kit, so you can expect premium performance thanks to a premium manufacturer. The shirt is 100% polyester so it’s quite durable and lightweight, a big benefit over time that can be worn in many occasions. The versatility is also increased thanks to Dri-Fit technology,  a staple in Nike jerseys and Nike polyester shirt these days. The technology allows for the high quality jersey to be highly breathable, wicking sweat away from your body with ease. Keeping dry in brutal summer conditions gives you an edge over your opposition, so why not invest in it?

Even if Celtic are not your favorite team, why not pick up this jersey for an occasion like St. Patty’s day? That’s my plan at bare minimum, even though I’m a fan of the team.
