Home / EPL / Arsenal v. Tottenham Match Preview

One of the exciting clashes of the weekend features two London teams. Tottenham Hotspur will head to Emirates Stadium to face the men in Arsenal jerseys. These two teams have been struggling lately and will be hoping for a positive result when they clash Saturday.

A lot of talk surrounded Arsenal before the season when their captain, Robin Van Persie, departed for rival Manchester United. Arsenal has lost several key players from their squad the past few seasons. The loss of key players has definitely affected the team’s success on the field. Arsenal is currently in eighth place with only 16 points from 11 games. Arsenal lost their match against Manchester United 2-1 on Nov. 3 and tied their next game 3-3 against Fulham Nov. 10. Their last win in the Premier League came almost a month ago when they beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0.

Tottenham is also a team that is struggling. Last season, they narrowly missed the Champions League and then had a change of managers in the offseason. Andres Villas-Boas has lead Tottenham to an up-and-down season but they still remain just 10 points behind Premier League leaders United. Tottenham has lost their last two matches against Wigan Athletic and Manchester City, so they are desperate for a win.

This game should be exciting with both teams being equally matched. Both Arsenal and Tottenham have scored 18 goals. The main difference between the two teams is Arsenal has only conceded 11 goals, while Tottenham has conceded 16 goals. Therefore I think the game will be very close and end in a 1-1 draw. The pressure will be on both teams since recent performances have not been the best, which will result in a conservative gameplan from both managers.
